About BambiniArt

Vincent Roy Bambini - Bambini Arts Studio, St. Thomas, VI

"My work is devoid of shadow" says Vincent Roy Bambini, "the dimensionality comes from the composition and color". Vincent has a unique style, sort of cutting-edge mannerism, and a very appealing in its deceptive simplicity. His subjects range from elegant landscapes to introspective figurative works. The format can be quite large, 6' x 8', or fairly small. Some his landscapes are a mere 8" x 10". Bambini's New York Series of large pencil drawings portrays dancers, actors and models in real-time, with backgrounds from Vincent's vivid imagination, and he creates sculptures and other works in shell and with found objects.

Vincent is also a muralist. His brilliant lightning bolt and bull's-eye wall paintings are popular backgrounds for movies and fashion shoots, including an MTV video for rock group "Custom" entitled "Beat Me".

Bambini is an art activist and promotor, too. Here in St. Thomas he's working on grantrifying the back streets of beautiful and historic Charlotte Amalie by developing an old property to invite artisans, artists, and art lovers. A place to stay, paint, write, and drink coffee. And an art gallery, of course.

Vincent Roy Bambini is a remarkable combination of old St. Thomas and avant-garde New York. He grew up in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan; but his mom is a St. Tomian, a Northside Frenchie, with deep roots in Island soil. Vincent spent many childhood summers at his grandparent's farm on St. Thomas' north side. He is an artist who believes in traditional ideals where real art, fine art, comes from what an artist sees, and interprets and documents by hand. The effect can be dramatic and can take time and insight to understand.
